REFORM | Kathleen Burkhalter Junkin, age 86, of Reform, died June 3, 2016, at her residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobbie Jean Hagler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings and daughter-in-law.
Survivors include her husband, James Robert Junkin; daughter, Katherine Smith (Larry); sons, Wayne Junkin (Carol), Kenneth Junkin (Kay) and Daniel Junkin (Libby); ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Kathleen was born January 18, 1930 in Pickens County Alabama to the late Albert Jackson Burkhalter and Amanda Ora Britt Burkhalter. She was a member of the Unity Grove United Methodist Church, a retired LPN from DCH Regional Medical Center and also retired as manager of Shelton State Community College Bookstore.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Junkin, Kendall Junkin, Tim McKinley, James Burkhalter, Junior Burkhalter and Ricky Junkin.
Honorary pallbearers are Shelton State Community College, Unity Grove United Methodist Church, Amedisys Hospice, Tracie Lynn, and friends and neighbors of the Palmetto community.
