ETHELSVILLE – Kenneth Ira Jewell, age 71, of Ethelsville, Ala., died September 23, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Ethelsville Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Adcox officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Jonathan Jewell.
Survivors are his sons, Mark Jewell, Jason Jewell (Amanda) and Josh Jewell, all of Ethelsville; sisters, Dorris Brown, Donna Paul, Cynthia Saunders (Mark), Lavada Corless (George), Suzette Ponds (Rick) and Montia Jewell; brothers, Billy Jewell (Anita) and Michael Jewell (Brenda); and seven grandchildren.
Kenneth was born on November 10, 1945 in Columbus, Mississippi to the late George Ira Jewell and Argyl Vera Tilley Jewell. He attended Ethelsville Baptist Church, was a veteran of the United States Army, and a well-known resident of the Ethelsville community.
