GORDO - At 3:30 p.m. on April 18, 2017, at UAB Hospital, the world lost a great man, as Kenneth "Kenny" Marlowe, age 62, was called home to be with his Lord. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at Sardis Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Turman and Rev. Jackie Adcox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Marlowe and grandparents, Benny and Mary Stephens.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Perry Marlowe; daughter, Stephanie Marlowe Ellenburg; sons, Joseph Marlowe and Christopher Marlowe; mother, Allene Clemons; brothers, Wayne Marlowe (Carol) and Aubrey Marlowe; sisters, Gwen Hill and Deedera Gambrell (Ray); and grandchildren, Megan Ellenburg, Aiden Riley Marlowe, Brooke Ellenburg and Isabelle Marlowe.
Kenny was born July 28, 1954 in Aliceville, Alabama. He was a member of Sardis Free Will Baptist Church and a retired carpenter.
He will be missed by far more than his wife, children and grandchildren. The world will be a little bit darker for everyone who knew him, because to know him was to love him. As a quiet man, his actions spoke for him and there was nothing he wouldn't do for a person in need.
Kenny will always be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother, son, grandfather and friend.
Pallbearers will be Troy McGee, Jeremy Skelton, Louie Stull, Aaron McGee, Michael Perry, Matt McGee and Allen Marlowe.
