Mallie Kimberly "Kim" McCarter Fraser was born on June 21, 1966, at Bryant–Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama, to Ray and Cile McCarter. She passed away on January 10, 2026, at UAB Hospital due to complications from infection. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, January 16, 2026 at Forkland Methodist Church with Bro. Kenny Overstreet and Bro. Jim Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 pm Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Cile McCarter; her in-laws, William and Joyce Fraser; her cousin, Jeremy Marlowe and her grandparents, Elvis and Fannie Mae McCarter and Clyde and Evelyn Yelverton.
She is survived by her faithful husband, Terry Fraser; her daughters, Lauren (Sage) Nelson and Audrey Ann (Dylan) Hannah; her beloved grandchildren, Cecelia, Gentry, and Clara Bren Nelson; brother, Bill McCarter (Jean); sister, Rae Ann Scott (JoJo) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Kim grew up in Forkland, Alabama, and attended Warrior Academy. After graduating high school, she continued her education at the University of Alabama, where she earned a degree in Social Work. Following graduation, Kim devoted her career to serving others through her work at the Pickens County State Health Department and My Care of AL, where she faithfully served her community with compassion and dedication.
The most important relationship in Kim's life was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She was a faithful servant of Christ and a devoted member of West End Baptist Church of Aliceville, Alabama, where her faith guided the way she lived and loved others. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and there was never a dull moment when Kim was around. Her laughter, warmth, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Ben McCarter, Rob McCarter, Will Ayres, William Ayres Wes Fraser, Jared Lawson, Bryson Saxon, Bayn Yates and Trey Yelverton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mason Saxon, Isaiah White, John Ashley White, Easton White, Ben Brackin, Jack Brackin, John Brackin, Jim Witherspoon, Warrior Class of 1984, My Care of Alabama, UAB Lung Transplant Team, Alabama State Department of Health and West End Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to Bigbee Humane Society, P.O. Box 474, Demopolis, AL 36732.
