CARROLLTON – Larry Walker Gilliam, age 70, of Carrollton, died September 3, 2017, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Carrollton First United Methodist Church with Bobby Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jennelle Gilliam Cummings and Annette Gilliam Linder.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann Owings Gilliam; daughter, Stacy Gilliam Saxton (Mike); and grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth Saxton and Caitlin Alysse Saxton.
Larry Walker Gilliam was born December 17, 1946 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Willie Walker Gilliam and Cora Mae Fortenberry Gilliam. Larry was a retired supervisor of 36 years in the water and sewer department for the Town of Carrollton.
Pallbearers will be Mike Elmore, Kenny Poole, Scotty Perrigin, Bob Webb, Johnny Young, James Bridges, Ricky Simon and Mike Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Town of Carrollton employees and Ben Curry.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Carrollton First United Methodist Church, PO Box 145, Carrollton, AL 35447.
