Larry Darnell Potts, age 85, of Aliceville, AL died June 30, 2026 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Aliceville First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Cooley, Rev. Charlie Wilson and Rev. Lyle Dease officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour before and one hour after the service at the church.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Bryan Potts and his parents.
Survivors include his sons, Bryan K. Potts (Lynn) and Kevin L. Potts (Angie); five grandchildren, Michael Potts (Kali), Logan Potts, Allie Rae Burkhalter (Tucker), Brandon Potts (Hannah) and Max Potts; six great- grandchildren, Wilson and Brooks Burkhalter, Riley and Lilly Potts, Mary and Ruth Potts and his brother, Bobby Potts (Nancy)
Larry was born October 14, 1940 in Aliceville, AL to the late Allie Bob Potts and Ruth Drain Potts. Larry was a devoted husband of 56 years. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Aliceville First Baptist Church and was a faithful servant of his Lord and God. He was a graduate of Howard College and Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was in the ministry for 60 plus years. He was a member of the Corner Room Sunday School Class and a member of Pickens County Disaster Relief.
Pallbearers will be Michael Potts, Logan Potts, Brandon Potts, Max Potts, Tucker Burkhalter and Britt Shields
Honorary Pallbearers are Baptist Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
