REFORM - Larry W. Strawn, age 69, of Reform, Ala., died May 24, 2018 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will immediately follow the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie McDaniel Strawn; son, Michael Strawn (Lauren); stepson, Daniel McCafferty (Alex); stepdaughter, Laci Jones (Josh); brother, Stan Strawn; grandchildren, Libby Strawn, Harlan Strawn, Harper McCafferty and Della Jones; niece, Susie Ezelle (Teddy); and great-nieces, Tatelyn and Addison Ezelle.
Larry was born September 9, 1948 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late George W. Strawn and Dorothy Wheat Strawn. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, a retired employee of Omnova in Columbus, Miss. and a veteran of the Army National Guard.
Larry was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and loved Alabama football. He loved his family and especially loved his granddaughters and the annual family beach trips they enjoyed together.
Pallbearers will be Terry Owens, Scott Crowley, Huntley Peeks, Ernie Fason, Gerald Noland and Billy Brownlee.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Pickens County Bass Club, Dr. William Hill and staff and Amedisys Home Health.
