GORDO | Laura Monette Kirk Banks, of Gordo, died November 23, 2014, at Northport Medical Center, at the age of 51, just one day shy of her 52nd birthday. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Flatwoods Baptist Church with Brother Jimmy Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Banks; special daughter, Nikki Poe (Rick); sister, Deb Baines (Ricky); two brothers, Donnie Kirk (Sharon) and Mikey Kirk; numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt "Mo" dearly and a host of friends and family who will miss her greatly.
Monette was born November 24, 1962 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Bobby Ray Kirk and Laura Nell Strickland Kirk. Monette was a special person, loving and loved in return. She will be truly missed.
Pallbearers will be Allen Kelly, Michael Kelly, Rick Poe, Jimbo Sanders, Glen Wilburn and Billy Taylor.
