Lee Roy Gibson, Jr., age 77, of Gordo, AL passed away April 3, 2024 at his residence.  Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, April 5, 2024 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Leonard Hudson officiating.  Burial will be in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elbert Gibson and Grady Gibson; sisters, Betty Ann Gibson and Judy Manning and stepson, Jeremy.
Survivors include his wife, Nina "Cissy" Gibson of Gordo; son, Lee Rayfield Gibson and wife, Trista of Leeds; brothers, Virgil Gibson (Janis) and Clyde Gibson (Jan); sisters, Virginia McCracken and Helen Gibson Carroll and grandson, Bryce Gibson.
Lee Roy was born August 20, 1946 in Carrollton, Alabama to the late Lee Roy Gibson, Sr. and Nellie Mae McDill Gibson.  He was a member of the Baptist faith, a retired Iron Worker and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Pallbearers will be Benny Colvin, Ronnie Colvin, Ike Gibson, Larry "Hook" Gibson, Elton Gibson and Riley Austin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky Parham, Pam Woolbright, Iron Workers Local 92 in Birmingham, Gordo Fire Department, Reform Fire Department, and Pickens County Ambulance Service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
