Vernon Lee Turk, age 81, of Reform, AL passed away September 29, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Sunday, October 3, 2021 At Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Morvin, AL with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Turk; his parents; brothers, Jimmy Turk, Buddy Turk and Stanley Turk and grandson, Dustin Lee Benton Turk.
Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Jackson (Jerry) of Tuscaloosa and Neva Slayton; sons, Darwin L. Turk (Lee Ann) of Columbus, MS, John Turk (Trina) and Bradley L. Turk (Stacy), all of Tuscaloosa; brother, Walter Turk; sisters, Mary Brannon (Jerry) and Catherine Downey; twelve grandchildren, Linda Marie Turk, Daniel Bodry, Bradley Dillon Turk, Elijah Jordan Turk, Stacy Gurganus (Kevin), Jerry W. Jackson, Jr. (Holly), Steve Turk, Josh Turk (Meagan), Jacob Turk (Brittney), Cody Strickland, Austin Strickland (Grace) and Nathan Strickland (Tatum) and ten great-grandchildren, Bethany Jackson, Paityn Jackson, Leonna Grace, Sawyer Turk, Noah Turk, Asher Turk, Kinsley Grace Turk, Brantley Turk and Carter Falls.
Lee was born January 16, 1940 in Alabama to the late John Turk and Lina Ethridge Turk. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and co-owner of Carquest Auto Parts.
Pallbearers will be Jerry W. Jackson, Jr., Roy Thomas, Elijah Turk, Dillon Turk, Nathan Strickland, Austin Strickland, Josh Turk, Jacob Turk, Cody Strickland and Steve Turk.
Honorary Pallbearers are Milton "Buzz" Miller and employees of Carquest Auto Parts.
