Obituary

James Leon Fair, age 91, of Gordo, AL passed away September 19, 2021 at Sansing Country Home in Carrollton. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Hannah Church Cemetery in Gordo with Rev. Byron Fair officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Leon "Jimbo" Fair, Jr., his parents and infant sister, Bernice Fair.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Fair Elmore (Ken), Sherri Fair Dillard (Randy), Marie Fair Boyd, Keith Fair (Nancy), Cindy Chapman Grey and Jamie Chapman (Candy); brothers, Ralph Fair, Mack Fair (Betty) and Roy Fair (Sandra); sixteen grandchildren, Drew Elmore (Jenifer), Eric Fair, Erica Jo Fair, Michelle Fair Bailey, Patrick Fair (Bonnie), Luke Dillard (Laurie), Heath Boyd, Jill Fair Jones (Dusty), Byron Fair (Courtney), Samantha Klemm Trull, Kristia Fowler (Elijah), Jonna Grey Dyer (Walt), Chapman Grey, Bo Chapman (Danielle), Haley Chapman and Koy Chapman and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Leon was born October 29, 1929 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Lewis Ward Fair and Ivie Mae Geer Fair. He was a member of Hannah Church and a veteran of the United States Army. Leon started Fair's Used Cars in 1962 and he was one of the founding members of the Gordo Lions Club where he was selected as Lion of the Year many times.
His grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers are Clay and Floree Sansing and Tammy Kent.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hannah Church, 7677 Hwy 159, Gordo, AL 35466.
