NORTHPORT | Leona "Tinnie Criswell" Fant, age 78, of Northport, died February 24, 2014, at Park Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Arbor Springs Baptist Church. The Eulogy will be provided by Ms. Birmingham. Burial will follow in Arbor Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caleb Criswell and Mary Etta Booth Criswell; her two children, Lisa Smith and James David Channell; and also by her former husbands, Sam Channell, James Henry Fant and Lewis Whitley. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Christine Birmingham of Northport, Ala., Tina Louise Whitley of Tuscaloosa, and Shawn Renee Whitley Alexander of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sons, Sam Channell (Peggy) of Holt, Ala., Roy McAteer of Gulfport, Miss., Buddy Lewis Whitley (Paula) of Pell City, Ala., and Jon Steven Whitley of Holt, Ala.; sister, Jewel Mae McCool of Ray City, Ga.; brothers, Jack Criswell (Maxine) of Reform, Ala., Walter Criswell (Diane) of Reform, Ala., and Jerry Criswell (Molly) of Gordo, Ala.; grandchildren, Christopher Brandon Whitley, Allen Smith, Telisa Smith Goins, and Jimmy Darrell Smith whom she raised as her children and 13 other grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, whom she dearly loved also; and a number of nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Sam Channell, Roy McAteer, Jon Whitley, Christopher Whitley, Jimmy Darrel Smith, and Michael Channell.Honorary pallbearers are her three brothers.
