GORDO – Linda Champion Leonard, age 61, of Gordo, Ala., died August 28, 2016, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services were held 2 p.m. August 30, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Meyers officiating. Burial followed in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation as held one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Alice Faye Champion.Survivors include her brothers, James Champion and Richard Champion and wife, Linda; and nieces, Diane Mitchell, Nancy Carroll and Toby Champion.Linda was born December 2, 1954 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late J. C. Champion and Fannie Lou Rogers Champion. She was a member of Reform Church of God and a retired caregiver.Pallbearers will be Sonny Byars, David Champion, Bob Smith, John Tingle, Dalton Mitchell and Jeremy Mitchell.The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Pickens County Medical Center, Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, Hospice of West Alabama, Gordo Volunteer Fire Department and residents of Grandview Apartments.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
