Linda Gail Wheat, age 71 of Gordo, AL died November 24, 2018 at Forest Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm November 27, 2018 at Sardis Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Tony
Latham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
Visitation will be tonight, Monday, November 26, 2018 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Ewell Wheat, Sr.; her parents; and two brothers,
William K. Driver and Tommy Mitchel Driver.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Ann Wheat Allen (Earl Allen); her son, Alvin Ewell Wheat,
Jr. (Mark Armburst); two sisters, Brenda Barron (Troy Barron) and Traci Boyd (Rick Boyd); two
grandchildren, Joshua K. Shuman and Meghan E. Dearen (Patrick Dearen) and three great-grandchildren,
Angel G. Robertson, Ethan C. Dearen and Avin D. Dearen.
Linda was born June 16, 1947 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late William Tommie Driver
and Reba Bell Hendrix Driver. She was a homemaker.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Shuman, Christopher "Brad" Robertson, Earl Allen, Patrick Dearen, Joshua
Shuman and Rick Boyd.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322
