Obituary

REFORM | Loris Carpenter Madison, age 90, of Reform, died September 12, 2014, at Heritage Health Care Center. Services will be 4 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Arbor Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Madison; her parents; sisters, Sula Davis and Cara Mims; niece, Linda Brooks Davis; great-nephews, John Voss and John Carter Pratt; and great-niece, Madison Pratt.
Survivors include her sister, Betty C. Pratt; nieces, Anna Hester (Dexter), Cara Chute (Earl), Joanna Davis, Cindy Davis, Rebecca Snow (Olan), Sherry Bledsoe (Darvon) and Lezlie Arnold (Perry); nephews, Jack Pratt (Megan), George Pratt (Shannon) and Skip Mims; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and a very special friend, Cathy Plowman.
Loris was born August 1, 1924 in Reform, Alabama to the late James W. Carpenter and Ola B. Keating Carpenter. She was a member of Reform First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Alabama Power Company.
Loris's greatest asset was giving to others. Her favorite verse of scripture was Philippians 4:13.
Honorary pallbearers are Joy Mills, members of Reform First Baptist Church and the Ramblers, employees of Alabama Power, employees of Heritage Health Care and Rehab and all her friends in Reform.
