Lonnie Freeman Barrett, age 74, of Echola, AL passed away December 18, 2021 at his residence. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Stripling officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Barrett; his parents; sister, Diane Gilliam and brothers-in-law, James Arnold and Rusty Reams.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janet Lancaster Barrett; two daughters, Jennifer Barrett and Kimberly Barrett; son, Shane Barrett; sisters, Sarah Reams and Patsy McDaniel (Glenn); brother-in-law, Dennis Gilliam; four grandchildren, Payton and Kymbrelle Barrett, Kelsey Gaddy and Nikki Short (Michael); seven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Waylon, Weston, Sarah Beth, Lana Dylan and Pru and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lonnie was born November 26, 1947 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late George and Catherine Barrett. He was a retired logger and an avid hunter and fisherman.
