Lonnie Travis Jones, age 70 of Carrollton, AL, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday June 7, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel in Reform, AL with Rev. Joey Lucas and Rev. George Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediatley following the service at the funeral home.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Hunter Bledsoe; sister, Martha Lenyell Jones; father and mother in law, L.D. and Claudine Carroll.
Lonnie was survived by his wife of 25 years, Alice Gay Carroll Jones; daughter Stacey McDaniel (Mitch); sisters, Donna Rager (Mike), Mandy Nettles, Charlean Jones, Margaret Ann Guy (David); brothers, Earnest Jones (Doris), Lester Earl Jones (Sandra) and James Carl Jones (Darlene);four grandchildren, Lawson, Grayson, Haley, and Caroline; two great grandchildren, Bristol and Ryder and a number of nieces and nephews.
Lonnie was born June 21, 1950 in Alabama to the late James Leonard Jones and Nettie Mary McDill Jones. He was a retired truck driver for McGee Lumber Company and a well known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Bob Carroll, J.R. Kyles, Tony Puckett, Garner Howard, Dalton Haygood, and Dusty Lancaster. Honorary Pallbearers are employees of Town Square Diner and Lonnies breakfast buddies at the Diner.
