GORDO - Lonnie L. Price, age 85, of Gordo, Ala., passed away February 9, 2018 at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Hershel Owen and Rev. Lindsey Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Marie H. Price; daughters, Tammy Kornegay and Darlene Dailey (Delane); sons, Jeff Price (Alicia) and Darrell Black (Demetra); sister, Voncile Fleming (George); brother, Ken Price (Nina); and seven grandchildren, Carley Turnage, Lauren Moody (Matt), Dylan Price (Donna), Dexter Black (Jana), Derek Black, Kristen Dailey and Kayla Key (Patrick); six great-grandchildren, Landyn, Allison, Addison, Mathew, Keegan and Kullen.
Lonnie was born July 21, 1932 in Bibb County, Alabama to the late Joe Price and Della Talant Price. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a retired employee of Freeman Lumber Company of Centreville, Alabama. Lonnie was a veteran of the United States National Guard and an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
Pallbearers will be friends of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
