Clara Louise Elmore, age 82, of Ethelsville, AL died Friday, January 1, 2021 at her daughter's residence in Foley, AL. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordo with Rev. Phillip Campbell officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 am Tuesday at Skelton Funeral Home in Reform.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Charles Elmore, her parents, and her grandson, Gabriel Elmore.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph "Joey" Ray Elmore(Karen) and Michael S. "Mike" Elmore(Claudia); daughter, Lisa Elmore Peters(Christopher); brother, Floyd "Butch" Goodyear; three grandchildren, Jessica Murphy(Josh), Kyle Elmore, and Edward "Teddy" Peters; three step grandchildren, Allison DeGweck(Ben), Ryan Peters, and Julia Praino; and nine great grandchildren.
Louise was born December 1, 1938 in Texas to the late Harold O. And Mattie Pearl Granger Goodyear. She was a retired teacher's aid and bus driver in the Pickens County School System, where she worked with special needs children and drove the special needs bus. She loved all the children and frequently brought different ones home for the weekend for picnics, fishing, and just some fun. Children have always held a special place in her heart and she shared her love generously.
