Malcolm Judson Comerford, age 69, of Gordo, AL passed away August 15, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 20, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Louis Johnson and Rev. Bruce Boswell officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Deborah A. Comerford; daughter, Nikki Chandler (Shane); son, Jared Comerford; grandchildren, Alyssa, Blane and Neela Chandler; brother, Mark Comerford (Beverly); sister-in-law, Karen Gregory (Terry); brother-in-law, Chris Anderson (Kim) and several nieces and nephews.
Malcolm was born July 14, 1952 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Ralph A. Comerford and Joyce Moss Comerford. He was a graduate of Gordo High School, a 40 year employee of B. F. Goodrich and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a loving son and brother, a trusted brother-in-law, uncle and friend and a wonderful Christian example to everyone who knew or met him. The things most important to him could be summed up as the "5 Fs - faith, family, friends, fun and food."
Pallbearers will be Kaleb Anderson, Jonathan Burroughs, Jeff Gregory, Jim Jeter, Johnny McDaniel and Rick Reece.
Honorary Pallbearers are Sonny Manning, Tom Rogers, Gerould "Pud" Thomas, Sr., Sam Wiggins, Lanny and Linda Windham and deacons and church friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
