GORDO – Mamie Faye Poole, age 72, died January 2, 2017 at Glen Haven Health & Rehab. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lenwood Gilliland and Rev. Herb Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Poole; stepson, Jamie Poole; her parents; brothers, Billy Swiney and Sam Swiney; and sisters, Evelyn Winters, Edna Quarles and Mollie Williams.Survivors include her son, Jonathan Derrick Poole; stepson, Joseph Poole (Kim); stepdaughter, Denita Poole Joyce; sister, June Hannah; brothers, Clarence Swiney (Lucy), Robert Earl Swiney (Sandra), Bobby Swiney (Mary)James Swiney (Marie), and J.B. Swiney (Lucy); three step-grandchildren, Joshua Anthony Poole, Shannon Lee Johnson and Courtney Elizabeth Harris; and seven step great-grandchildren.Mrs. Poole was born April 10, 1944 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late Prince Albert Swiney and Bertha Winters Swiney. She was a member of Circlewood Baptist Church and a retired employee of the University of Alabama Law School.Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Livingston, Tony Hannah, John David Swiney and Wilford Lee Shirley.
