Margaret was born April 9, 1937 in Carrollton, Alabama to the late James Curtis Noland and Juanita Strawn Noland.  She was happily married to Billy Acker for 51 years.  She worked hard all her life in the garment industry, raising her children and assisting her husband around their home and family farm. She was simply Nanny to her grandchildren, who she loved fiercely, and played such an active role in their lives that she became fondly known as Nanny Acker to their friends, most of Carrollton and surrounding communities.  An incredible cook, she was happiest when preparing a meal for her whole family to enjoy at her house for Saturday breakfast or Sunday supper.  According to Nanny, no meal was complete without dessert and coffee.  Toward the end of her life she enjoyed playing bridge and attending Senior Citizens luncheons and the family is grateful to the members of these groups for the love and care they showed her. Most importantly, she was an active member of Carrollton United Methodist Church and her family rejoices in knowing she was welcomed into Glory by her Savior.
Pallbearers will be Dustin McGee, Luke Acker, Caleb McGee, Jacob Acker, Devan Barnett, Noah McDaniel, Morris Lilienthal, Luther Pippen, Shawn McDaniel and C. J. Whitney.
Honorary Pallbearers are her church family, Dr. Parker and staff, her caregivers; Kim Price, Sara Sherrod and Sue McAteer, Hospice of West Alabama, special friends; Buddy and Melinda McDaniel, Micki Graham, Lucille Nance and her bridge club.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Carrollton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 145, Carrollton, AL 35447, Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404 or to a charity of your choice.
