Marguerite K. Chappell, age 102, of Aliceville, AL passed away January 28, 2022 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Rusty Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE in Aliceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Chappell, Jr.; her parents; sisters, Anna Eatman and Elizabeth Puckett; sons-in-law, Bill Harris and Hester Nason; brothers-in-law, Francis Puckett, Charles Chappell, Ernest Chappell and Ray Phillips; sisters-in-law, Verona Chappell Phillips and Alice Hitt Chappell and nephews, Ray Coleman Phillips and Terry Phillips.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Nason; brother-in-law, Ken Eatman; nephews, Marshall Puckett, Larry Chappell and Fred Chappell; nieces, Bettye Wadsworth, Joyce Chappell, June Patrick, Frances Phillips and Becky Phillips and a host of cousins.
Marguerite was born February 19, 1919 in Carrollton, Alabama to the late John Reese Kelly and Sammie Carson Kelly. She married William Earl Chappell, Jr. on March 26, 1944 and Constance Marie Chappell was born to this union on April 8, 1947. Marguerite was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until the age of 93 and continued to attend regularly through age 101 and was a retired bookkeeper for Graham Chevrolet.
Pallbearers will be Leonard Cockrell, Dwight Blakney, Steve Davis, Charles Davis, Thomas Cade, Clint Cade, Darren Knepp and Randy Harris.
Honorary Pallbearers are her Pleasant Hill Baptist Church family, past and present staff of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home and Dr. James Parker.
