Marie Hurst Skelton, age 85, of Demopolis, AL passed away May 24, 2023 at DCH Regional Medical Center.  Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis with Rev. Scott Stevens and Rev. Tyler Gresham officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Hurst and sister, Janie Kaiser.
Survivors include her husband, John T. "Tommy" Skelton; daughter, Loree Cummings (Charlie); stepson, Tony Skelton (Tina); brother, Billy Hurst (Adelene); sisters, Linda Shelby (Harvey), Shirley Gafford (Mack) and Deborah Hewitt; a number of step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marie was born August 18, 1937 in Florida to the late L. B. Hurst and Anna Augusta Hahn Hurst.  She was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church in Demopolis and a retired line supervisor for Vanity Fair and also a retired employee for Robertson Bank.
