Martha Housel Crocker, 92, of Reform, died on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 26, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Reform with Rev. Joyce Snyder and Rev. Reagin Brown officiating. Visitation will be at the church at 1 PM and immediately following the service. Burial will be in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
She was born September 19, 1928 in Columbus, Mississippi to the late Leonard and Lottie Elledge Housel. She was a graduate of Gordo High School and Huntingdon College, and from 1954 until 1993 she and her husband owned and operated Housel Hardware Company in Reform. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Reform where she served as volunteer choir director for over 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, John P. (Buddy) Crocker; daughter, Nancy Crocker Beard (John); granddaughter, Anna Turner Bisch (Travis); step-grandsons, Grant Beard and Jackson Beard; nephews, John Holman (Sandra), John Stewart (Hannah), Mark Housel (Cindy) and Paul Housel (Tricia); sisters-in-law, Tenza Housel and Muriel Crocker Holman and cousins, Billy Daniel, Donald Daniel, David Housel, Raymond Housel, Marion Housel, Beth Housel Mitchell, Susan Stricklen Lloyd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, L.D. "Sonny" Housel and her sister, Charlotte Housel Bailey.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Habitat for Humanity, Hospice of West Alabama, or an Alzheimer's charity of your choice.
