Martha Jean Elmore Fancher, age 90, of Ethelsville, AL died January 14, 2025 at Arbor Woods Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, January 17, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church in Reform with Bro. Trey Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andy Elmore; her second husband, Hershal A. "Sonny" Fancher; two sons, Stevie Elmore and Kenny Elmore; her parents; son-in-law, James "Bubba" Kelley; grandson, Joey Shaffer and brother-in-law, Harold Fields.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherrie Kelley; son, Teddy Elmore; stepdaughter, Ann Dunn (James); daughters-in-law, Diane Elmore and Robin Elmore; sisters, Alice Fields of Atlanta, GA and Diann Cook of Tuscaloosa; brother, Jimmy Cook of Columbus, MS; twelve grandchildren, Ashley Blalock (Alan), Stephanie Elmore, Chad Elmore, Morgan Thomas (Michael), Chase Elmore (Katelyn), Heath Elmore, Tracey Goslin (Allen), Jeremy Elmore, Jamie Jaynes (Tim), Brandy Junkin (Scott), Trey Kelley (Rebecca) and Aaron Shaffer; sixteen great-grandchildren, Jack, Emma, Kinsley, Mason, Isaac, Ava, Karson, Dawson, Jay, Grace, Cade, Ty, Noah, Avie Kate, Sawyer Kate and Hunter; one great-great grandchild, Lucy Grae and a number of nieces and nephews.
Martha was born April 5, 1934 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Woodrow Cook and Eunice Winters Cook. She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and a retired seamstress for Lamar Manufacturing.
Pallbearers are Chase Elmore, Mason Elmore, Heath Elmore, Tim Jaynes, Scott Junkin and Cade Junkin.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Arbor Woods Health & Rehab and Southern Care Hospice.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
