Mary E. "Betty" Harrell Bass, age 77, of Reform, AL passed away July 19, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel in Reform with Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur H. Bass; two sons, Doug Bass and Richard Bass; grandson, Donnie Haley; her parents and brothers, Reuben Harrell, Virgil Harrell and Stanley Harrell.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Kirby, Rene McDaniel, Samantha McGee, Lynn Robertson (Kevin) and Debra Bass Herring; son, Steve Bass (Sandy); sister, Martha Yarbrough; sixteen grandchildren, Chris Bass, Stephanie Barnes, Doug "Bubba" Bass. Jonathan Haley, Carrie Shaver, Donna Hill, Lena Bass, Michael Bass, Whitney Bass, April McGee, Elizabeth McGee, Lee Robertson, Lisa Walters, John Provost, Adam Bass and Nicholas Robertson and sixteen great-grandchildren, Annabelle Lovelady, Madalyn Kennedy, Addilyn Kennedy, Jacob Bass, Hunter Bass, Cameron Martin, Logan Robertson, Leah Robertson, Bayleigh Nevith, Kason Nevith, Lana Bass, Robert Bass, E. J. Bass, Justin McCleddon, Alie Grace Bass and Aiden Shaffer.
Betty was born January 26, 1944 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Samuel Lyhue Harrell and Mary Lou Swedenburg Harrell. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a retired employee of Salem Nursing Home in Reform.
Her grandsons and nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
