ALICEVILLE – Mary Eleene Carpenter, age 93, of Aliceville, Ala., formerly of Reform, Ala., died March 11, 2018, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hall and Rev. Trey Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Carpenter; her son, Ronnie Simmons; her grandson, Aaron Simmons; and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Pullen (Roy) and Charlotte Peeks (Jody); son, Johnny Carpenter (Tammy); sisters, Frances Foster, Eunice Duncan and Jean Stewart; brothers, Bill Sudduth, Herman Sudduth and Joe Sudduth; three grandchildren, Lynn Peeks, Chad Peeks and Brittany Buchanan; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Carpenter was born March 2, 1925 to the late Sherman Sudduth and Lenora Collins Sudduth. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Colen Dyer, Jerry Dyer, Johnny Dyer, Jimmy Hicks, Jim Klosterman and Searcy Junkin.
