Mary Ann Drake, age 82, of Reform, AL passed away April 23, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glenn Kennedy and Bro. Larry Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Paul Oliver Drake and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim Forstner (Andrew), Cheri Pate (Mike) and Alison Drake (Glenn Lee) all of Reform; son, Ken Drake (Barbara) of Northport; brother, John Wayne Collins of Tuscaloosa; nine grandchildren, Rebekah Findley (Stephen), Taylor Drake (Jaclyn), Kristen Dobbs, Kaitlin Farmer (Dillon), Scotty Cunningham, Jason Pate (Savannah), Jeremy Pate (Kaleigh), Jared Shepherd and Carson Shepherd; ten great-grandchildren, Avery Jane Findley, Ryan Taylor Findley, Drake Latham Findley, Jacob Dobbs, Bailey Kate Stone, Brayden Stone, Libby Pate, Luke Pate, Ryker Kenneth Drake and Fletcher David Drake and her fur babies, Zoey and Dora.
Mary Ann was born December 7, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Johnnie Walter Collins and Lucille Holbrook Collins and was raised by her stepmother, the late Mildred Earnestine Salter Collins. Mary Ann was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, a retired beautician and a cosmetology instructor for 27 years.
Pallbearers will be Jason Pate, Jeremy Pate, Taylor Drake, Stephen Findley, Jared Shepherd and Carson Shepherd.
Honorary Pallbearers are Amedisys nurses, Laura, Nikki and Lisa and Dr. Neil Honea.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the Rise Center, 600 Johnny Stallings Drive, Tuscaloosa, Al 35401.
