TUSCALOOSA – Mary Ellen Smith, age 98, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died October 1, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Latham and Dr. Curtis Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to and immediately following the service at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Jackson Smith; parents; sons, Kenneth Smith and Boyd Smith; special friend Charles Quinn; and a number of brothers and sisters.Survivors include her grandchildren, Jason Boyd Smith, Kristen Camille Smith, Victoria Smith and Marilyn Ann Smith; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.Mary Ellen Smith was born July 18, 1918 to the late Thomas Robert Sellers and Mary Ann Noland Sellers.
