Mary Ruth Elmore, age 87, of Gordo, AL died January 26, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Browns Chapel Church of God of Prophecy
in Gordo with Rev. A. L. Henderson and Rev. Thomas Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Elmore; son Paul Elmore and brothers, J. C. Hall and Charlie Hall and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Janice Snipes (Bill) of Gordo, AL and Patty Ewing (Art) of Brilliant, AL;
her sons, Kenneth Elmore (Dian) of Gordo, AL and Randy Jack Elmore of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Ruby Nell McBride and Pauline Holifield; six grandchildren, Dawn Cook (David), Ben Snipes (Amanda), Josh Elmore, Daniel Elmore, Joe Snipes and Angela Kemper (Phil); ten great-grandchildren, Matthew Cook, Andrew Cook, Logan Snipes, Makayla Elmore, Alaina Snipes, Candace Bradem, Lynzi Lanier, Jaylen Kemper, Emily Kemper and Nathan Kemper and many other family members and friends.
Mary Ruth was born February 9, 1931 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Walter Hall and Mary Wedgeworth Hall. She was raised by her grandparents Jim Hall and Liza Booth Hall. She was a homemaker, member of Browns Chapel Church of God of Prophecy and a life long resident of Pickens County.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Duren, Johnny Duren, Newman Hall, Daniel Elmore, Matthew Cook and Andrew Sempell.
