TUSCALOOSA | Juanita ""Nannie"" Noland, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, died September 8, 2015, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September, 11, 2015, at Arbor Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight, Thursday, September 10, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Shelia Noland; infant; son, Lee Noland; son, Eddie Earl Noland; and brother, Ray McGarity.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria O'Mary (Roger) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sisters, Geneva Tunnell (Douglas) of Duncanville, Ala. and Fay Shaw (Carl) of Reform, Ala.; brothers, James McGarity of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Donald McGarity (Peggy) of Reform, Ala.; six grandchildren, Leslie, Stephanie, Chris, Brandy, Kim and Kevin; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Juanita was born July 5, 1932 in Pickens County, Ala., to the late Willie McGarity and Mamie Gobar McGarity. She was a member of Arbor Springs Baptist Church and a retired employee of Westinghouse in Reform.
Pallbearers will be Chris Noland, Dan O'Mary, Howard Jordan, Tommy Shaw, Ricky Shaw and Charles Shaw.
Honorary pallbearers are her special niece, Marsha McGarity; special great-grandsons, Camryn O'Mary and Daltyn Poole, Hospice of West Alabama, Betty and Ladarius Rhone, Patti Noland, Dr. James Robinson, Dr. Dubay and the staff of the Manderson Cancer Center.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the friends and neighbors of Pine Cone Apartments, Betty and Doug Oliver, Janice Hanks and Phyllis Deese.
