ALICEVILLE | Maud W. Goodson, age 88, of Aliceville, died September 14, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. A Home going celebration will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Dogwood Chapel 200 5th St. NE in Aliceville with Rev. Randy Sudduth officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Sapps with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight, September 16, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Dogwood Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollan Goodson; son, Cecil Goodson; grandson, Michael N. Goodson; her parents; brothers, Joe Wilson and Sid Wilson; and sisters, Eula Smith, Myrle Keith, Mamie Moore and Molly Kee.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Lou Johnson (Pat) of Carrollton, Ala. and Gladys Robertson (Randy) of Tuttle, Okla.; sons, Doyle Goodson of Eufaula, Ala. and James Goodson (Suzanne) of Gordo, Ala.; brother, Buddy Wilson (Virginia) of Holbert, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Maud was born May 19, 1927 in Aliceville, Ala. to the late Joe Wilson and Dovie McCool Wilson. She was a member of Aliceville Worship Center, a retired employee of the Aliceville Cotton Mill with 50 years of service and a lifelong resident of Pickens County. After her retirement in 1992, Maud became actively involved with the Aliceville Senior Activity Center.
Pallbearers will be Bret Hayes, Trent Hayes, Ethan Thompson, Cody Thompson, Michael T. Goodson and Lucas Wilburn.
