Obituary

REFORM | Maxine Marlowe Criswell, age 73, of Reform, died November 19, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Long officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson "Jack" Criswell; son, Terry Dewayne Criswell; granddaughter, Heather McEachern; two sisters, Patsy Prescott and Betty Bryant; and one brother, Rayford Marlowe.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Pate (Robert) of Gordo, Ala.; son, Brian Criswell of Reform, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Criswell of Reform, Ala.; sisters, Meril Bearden of Lee, Fla. and Hazel Trull of Kennedy, Ala.; brothers, J.L. Marlowe (Faye), Joe Marlowe (Dorothy), all of Gordo, Ala. and Cleveland "Sonny" Marlowe, Jr. (Maggie) of Houston, Miss.; four grandchildren, Brandon Criswell, Hunter Criswell, Aleah Criswell and Allison Parks; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Will, Haleigh and Lyla; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Maxine was born February 10, 1942 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Cleveland Marlowe, Sr. and Florence Booth Marlowe. She attended the Reform Church of God, was a former employee of Westinghouse and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Nanny adored her grandchildren and enjoyed their time together but she also enjoyed arts and crafts and growing flowers.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Criswell, Benny Ray Prescott, Teddy Ray Prescott, Trey Reece and Mike Clardy.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Amedisys Home Health and staff of DCH MICU.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association , P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410 or American Diabetes Association , 200 Office Park Drive Suite 303, Birmingham, AL 35223.
