ALICEVILLE | Maxine Stephens Jones, age 80, of Aliceville, died March 6, 2015, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Jack House and Rev. James Hammack officiating. Burial will follow in Union Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Mrs. Jones was born October 2, 1934, in Aliceville, Ala., to the late Johnson Ford Stephens and Leaunia Hayes Stephens. She was a retired employee of West Alabama Bank and Trust, with 52 years of service, a volunteer with the Aliceville Museum Cultural Center for 12 years, and was a member of West End Baptist Church. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whom will be missed by all of her family, friends, and those she came in contact with at the taxi stand, bank, and museum.Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.Honorary pallbearers are her Sunday School class at West End Baptist Church and employees and former employees of West Alabama Bank and Trust.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to West End Baptist Church, 130 Mobile Rd., Aliceville, AL 35442, or Union Chapel Cemetery Fund, 5331 Franconia Rd., Carrollton, AL 35447.
