Mayford Joyce Barrentine, age 94, of Aliceville, AL and formerly of Ackerman, Mississippi died March 3, 2026 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 3:30 pm Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Mt. Nebo Methodist Church in Ackerman with Bro. Jimmy Barrentine officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Barrentine; her parents; brothers, Jerry Brooks and Allan Brooks; sisters, Evelyn Oswalt, Jo Nell Martin and Ruth Perrigin and son-in-law, George Ganus "Bubba" Gray, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters, Geneva Hood and husband, Buddy and Cary Gray; her son, Jo Barrentine and wife, Shannon; sisters, Marie Fulce, Etoyle Bowman, Helen Cagle, Charlotte Scroggs, Barbara Palmertree and Dempy Hawkins; six grandchildren, Andy Hood (Mary), David Hood (Rhonda), Kortnie Roddy (Lucas), Brad Barrentine (Hollie), Kellie Reece (Brandon) and Chris Bowles (Emily); sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Barrentine was born May 19, 1931 in Reform, Mississippi in Choctaw County to the late Loyd Brooks and Lydia Dobbs Brooks.  She was a retired seamstress for Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Eupora, MS.
Pallbearers are Chris Bowles, Timber Bowles, Andy Hood, Mason Hood, Morgan Hood and Jimmy Dale Henderson.
