Merrill Glenn Floyd, age 85, of Aliceville, AL passed away November 12, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Private graveside services will be held with Rev. Bill Etheridge officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.                                                                      He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Frank Floyd, Claude S Floyd, Charles Floyd and James E. Floyd and four sisters, Kathleen May, Marjorie Davis, Doris Elmore and Sara Murphy.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mary Nell Floyd and numerous nieces and nephews.
Merrill was born May 25, 1936 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Claude William Floyd and Gladys Strickland Floyd. Before retiring and moving back to Alabama, he was a senior editor for Wiley Publishers, one of New York's largest textbook publishing companies. Merrill was an antique dealer and former music director for First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa. In his later years he moved his membership to Aliceville First Presbyterian Church.
