GORDO Michael Watson Wise, age 66, of Gordo, died October 26, 2013, at home. Services were held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Gordo First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bart Bowlin and Rev. David Blakney officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Gary Wise.Survivors include his wife, Aimee Wise of Gordo, Ala.; daughters, Tara Wise Lancaster (Brian) of Gordo, Ala. and Stephanie Loper (Chad) of Orange Beach, Ala.; sons, Kelly Wise (Honey) of Huntsville, Ala. and Ryan Wise (K.C.) of Northport, Ala.; parents, Winton and Naomi Wise of Bay Minette, Ala.; sisters, Pam Carney (Mickey) of Hattiesburg, Miss. and Jody Campbell (Mike) of Bay Minette, Ala.; grandchildren, Brody and Lola Lancaster " his pride and joy" and Sarah Beth and Gray Loper; sister-in-law, Alka Dolloff of Hazelhurst, Miss; and several nieces and nephews.Mr. Wise was born October 21, 1947 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was a member of Gordo First United Methodist Church and he enjoyed his Saturday morning Bible Study Group. Mike was a retired supervisor for Pickens County Solid Waste, a member of the Gordo City Council and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He adored his family and loved giving to others.Pallbearers will be Maurice Stuckey, Mark Babb, Mark Elmore, Jim Elmore, Richard Howell and Bobby Cowart.Honorary pallbearers are all of his friends and neighbors of Bridges subdivision, his Gordo First United Methodist Church family, the Mayor of Gordo and the Gordo City Council.
