CARROLLTON – Millard Gene Latham, Sr., age 82, of Carrollton, Ala., died May 1, 2017, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Carrollton Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Winders and Rev. Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duren Latham, Robert Latham, J. C. Latham and Fred Latham; and niece, Linda Essary Gault.Survivors include his wife, Gaye Elmore Latham of Carrollton, Ala.; son, Millard Gene Latham, Jr. and wife, Sally of Northport, Ala.; grandson, Matthew Glenn Latham and wife, Brooke of Dothan, Ala.; great-granddaughter, Ashleigh Glenn Latham of Dothan, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews.Mr. Latham was born January 29, 1935 in Palmetto, Alabama to the late Glenn Latham and Fannie Conner Latham. He was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.Millard was a Liberty National Life Insurance sales agent for 26 years. He was a member of the Carrollton Lions Club and the Carrollton Masonic Lodge # 214 and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.Pallbearers will be Charles Ashcraft, Buddy Kirk, Butch McCafferty, Hilary Russell, Dr. David Tuten and Mike McCafferty.Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Carrollton Baptist Church, the Mens Bible Sunday School Class, retired agents and managers of Liberty National Life, Mac Prude, Leon Oglesby, Betty Kilpatrick, Betty Ashcraft, staff and nurses of Aliceville Manor and Pickens County Medical Center Elder Care Unit and members of Masonic Lodge # 214.
