MCSHAN | Murphy Rodney "Big P" Perrigin, age 59, of McShan, Ala., died November 18, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Taylor and Rodney Homan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight, Friday, November 20, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Murphy A. "Poss" Perrigin.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Perrigin of McShan, Ala.; mother, Edna Perrigin of Rogersville, Ala.; sons, Benjamin Perrigin (Nikki), Scottie Perrigin (Jessica) and Brian Perrigin (Natasha), all of Columbus, Miss.; brother, Randall Perrigin (Kimberly) of Rogersville, Ala.; and ten grandchildren, Brandon, Avery, Caleb, Josh, Meghan, Caden, Colin, Carley, Tyler and Taylor.
Rodney was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church and a retired employee of Omnova in Columbus, Miss. He loved gospel music and was involved with several gospel quartets and their travels.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Honnoll, Blake Jernigan, William Perrigin, Jeff Seymer, Brian Brasher and Chipper Seymer.
Honorary pallbearers are Randy Cowart, Wayne Moody, past members of the Heartmen Quartet, From the Ashes and The Capstone Quartet.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
