CARROLLTON | Nancy Hudson Shepherd, age 70, of Carrollton, died July 20, 2014, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Hamilton and Rev. Clifton Pate officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Shepherd; her parents; and brothers, Junior Hudson and J. P. Hudson. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Hamilton (Roy) of Carrollton, Ala. and Rebecca Thompson (Jim) of Tampa, Fla.; sons, Kenny Shepherd of Carrollton, Ala., Tony Shepherd of Carrollton, Ala. and Timmy Shepherd of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sisters, Dot Bostick (Lamar) of Columbus, Miss., Ethel Swedenburg, Doris McDaniel and Grace Hudson, all of Reform, Ala.; brother, Johnny Hudson of Reform, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Nancy was born March 17, 1944 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Grady Hudson and Lucille Sanders Hudson. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy, a homemaker and a life long resident of Pickens County. A very special woman and mother, Nancy raised many other children in addition to her own. Pallbearers will be Jerome Shepherd, David Pate, Terry Pate, Dewayne Wooten, Charlie Pate, Ronald Acker, Don Hickman and Trey Reece. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. James Parker and staff and all of the employees of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home which we would like to thank for going above and beyond their duties in the care our Mother. Their professionalism and compassion for not only Nancy's physical needs, but her emotional needs as well, helped us her children, through this difficult time. May God bless you.
