CARROLLTON - Nellie Ruth Acker, age 71, of Carrollton, died December 8, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Glen Echo Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Driver officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the church.She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ellis Acker; son, David Alfred Acker; her parents and brother, Leroy Morgan.Survivors include her sons, Robert Morgan Acker of Kennedy, Ala. and James Hugh Acker of Carrollton, Ala.; sisters, Mary Whitehead of Tennessee and Elizabeth Nabors of Carrollton, Ala.; brother, Vernon Morgan of Carrollton, Ala.; and four grandchildren, Morgan Acker, Megan Acker, Joshua Acker and Chloe Acker.Nellie was born October 29, 1945 in Thomasville, Alabama to the late James Morgan and Ida Conner Morgan. She was a homemaker and member of Glen Echo Free Will Baptist Church.Pallbearers will be Mike McDaniel, Taylor McDaniel, Howard Hill, Chris Hill, Caleb Acker, Joe Acker, Timothy Acker and Jeremy Keysinger.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Glen Echo Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1093 Glen Echo Rd., Carrollton, AL 35447.
