Bessie Juanita "Nita" Owens, age 67, of Carrollton, AL passed away November 10, 2020 at Hospice of West Alabama. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jaime Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Herbert Owens.
Survivors include her sons, Chris Owens (Jessica) and Jaime Owens (Brianna); stepdaughter, Kim Pulliam (Chris); two brothers, Eric Reynolds (Donna) and Eddie Reynolds (Donna); eight grandchildren, Seamus, Mary Clare, Declan, Patrick, Ciaran, Finley Kate, Isla and Oliver; three great-grandchildren, Tasha Appleby, Abby Pulliam and Kevin Smith; nieces and nephews, Wesley Reynolds (Katelyn), Erica Morgan (James), John Ethan Reynolds, Hunter Reynolds (Haley) and Briana Reynolds and great nephew, Ryan Reynolds.
Nita was born July 24, 1953 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Willard Reynolds and Eunice McDaniel Reynolds. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School, a member of Marvin Chapel UMC and retired owner of Tenn-Tom Forestry. Nita was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Pallbearers will be James Morgan, Wesley Reynolds, John Ethan Reynolds, Patrick Ezelle, Cody McDaniel, Hunter Reynolds, Mike McGee, Buster Wright, Frankie Wright and Austin Pritchett.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
