CARROLLTON | Norman Michael "Mike" Owens, age 55, of Carrollton, died July 26, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Springhill Baptist Church with Rev. Bert Noland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great-niece, Senia Ansley McTigue.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Williams Owens; sons, Justin Owens and Cody Owens (Ashley); step-daughters, Jessie Johnson Steed (Jake) and McKenna Johnson Walker (Jon); sister, Toni Owens; grandchildren, Cade and Ella Owens; step-grandchildren, Cashe Lynn Steed and John Luke Walker; niece, Jessica Michelle Knoop (Shane P. McTigue); and great-niece, Campbell Aspen McTigue.
Mike was born October 12, 1958 in Dover, Delaware to the late Norman Mayo Owens and Senia Spurgeon Owens. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church and an employee of Buchanan Lumber in Aliceville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
