GORDO – Ola Faye Connell, age 90, of Gordo, Ala. died September 10, 2017, at her residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ashby Connell; her parents; and siblings, Eustace Junkin, Eunice Bobo, Bernice Connell, and Lee Junkin.
Survivors include: daughter, Brenda Calhoun (Russell); son, Roger Connell, special sister-in-law, Joan Junkin; and four grandchildren, Joy Harless (Chad), Susan Webb (Anthony), Adam Connell (Natalie), and Andrew Connell (Valerie); nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Connell was born November 4, 1926 in Gordo, Alabama to the late George Attison Junkin and Giller Hannah Junkin. She was a member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church, a homemaker and a life-long resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be: Lewis Bobo, Randy Junkin, Rodney Junkin, James Junkin, Adam Connell, Andrew Connell, Chad Harless, Anthony Webb, and Barry Smitherman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
