Onzelle Wheat Owens, age 78, of Carrollton, AL passed away July 29, 2024 at her residence.  Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, August 2, 2024 at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville with Bro. Mike Perrigin officiating.  Burial will be in Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Aliceville with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the chapel.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Wheat; mother, Laverne Carroll Wilburn; her grandparents and brother, Donald Wheat.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Terry Dalton Owens; son, Dewey Dalton Owens and two grandchildren, Reese Dalton Owens and Kevin Shane Owens.
Onzelle was born June 8, 1946 in Pickens County, Alabama.  She was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Pallbearers will be Reese Owens, Kevin Owens, Robert Cena, Ted Sisty, Bonner Sisty, Jason Eatman and Jason Noland.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Children's Hospital of Alabama, 1600 7th Avenue S., Birmingham, AL 35233-1785.
