Patricia Ann "Pat" McMilian Svedahl, age 69, of Gordo, AL passed away June 10, 2023 at Fayette Medical Center. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church of Reform with Bro. George McLaurine officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Milt Svedahl and her parents, Harold McMilian and Anna Sentell McMilian.
Survivors include her sister, Deborah Cameron (Ron); her brother, Tony McMilian (Brandy); nephews, Jacob Cameron and Luke Cameron (Kathleen); nieces, Marissa Peltier (Chris) and Tori McMilian (Peyton) and great-nephew, Isaac Peltier. She is also survived by her handpicked daughter, amiga and confidant, Lori Gustafson and her husband, Jim and their three children, Zachary, Nicholas and Alissa. Pat is also survived by many cousins, aunts, friends and her much loved dog, Bridgette.
Pat was born July 1, 1953 in Versailles, Missouri into a military family, which allowed her to travel to Okinawa, Italy, Germany and many states in the U.S. In her mid-twenties, she moved to Seattle, Washington, where she met Milt. Pat resided in Seattle until October 2019 when she relocated to Gordo, AL. Pat became involved with several charities serving her community. One of her favorite activities was handing out Bibles at local food distributions during Covid, thus she became know as the "Bible Lady". She loved gardening, making jewelry and reading, but most of all, she enjoyed coloring artwork to give to others. On Sundays, Pat enjoyed attending church services at the First Presbyterian Church of Reform and then going to lunch with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the First Freewill Baptist Church Bible Fund, P.O. Box 62, Reform, AL 35481.
