REFORM – On September 16, 2017, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Patsy Sims Sentell passed away from complications of Multiple Sclerosis and entered her heavenly home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Arbor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Robbins officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will have visitation on Tuesday Evening September 19, 2017, from 5 – 6 p.m., at the residence for close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jackie Ben Sims; and niece, Leah Dendly.
Survivors include her wonderful loving husband of 57 years, Henry Leon Sentell; daughters, Julisa Sentell Johnson of Reform, Ala. and Kami Sentell Henders (Duke) of Gordo, Ala.; son, Kevin S. Sentell of Reform, Ala.; sisters, Peggy Waldron (Wayne) of Mitchell, Ind.; grandchildren, Megan Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Kelsey Sentell, Kyler Henders and Kaci Henders; and lifelong best friends, Claudia and Gerald Buford of Jackson Miss.
Patsy was born June 15, 1939 in Jackson, Miss. to the late Herman Snyder Sims and Beulah Stewart Byrd. She was a member of Coalfire Baptist Church and a well-known resident of Pickens County.
Patsy was a graduate of Central High School in Jackson, Ms. and the University of Alabama, cum laude, at the age of 48, after beginning at the age of 44. She taught 13 years with the Pickens County Board of Education before her disability retirement.
She loved and adored her husband and grandchildren, encouraging them all in every way. Her unwavering faith in Jesus allowed her to overcome challenges she faced in life.
