Patsy Jean Spain's Heavenly Father called her home to her reward at her home peacefully in Aliceville with her daughter, LaDonna and son-in-law, Anthony by her side on August 7, 2022. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Minor and Rev. Carson McSherdon officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Rufus Edward Spain and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, LaDonna Spain Dozier and husband, Anthony; brother, Patrick Grammer (Margaret); sister, Barbara Pate (Gene), granddaughter, Kaleigh Lucas (Mitchell); great-grandchild, Everette Lucas and a number of nieces and nephews.
Patsy was born March 6, 1943 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Eddie James Grammer and Ethell Stokes Grammer. Patsy served over 60 years in the ministry spreading the Gospel alongside her husband, Rev. Edward Spain. She had the honor of speaking and singing at the Women's Aglow, Women's Banquets, Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International, national conventions and local speaking engagements. Patsy's ministry through song was recorded in studio through records, radio and numerous CDs. The joy of her life was serving the Lord and the harvesting of souls that have come to know our Lord and Savior.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Luker, Mitchell Lucas, Gary Jones, Anthony Dozier, Tony Christian and William Sutton.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Julia Boothe, David Spain, Patrick Grammer and Terry Parker.
