Peggy H. Junkin, age 85 of Gordo, AL passed away February 2, 2024 at Hospice of West Alabama.  Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gordo with Rev. Lindsey Watkins and Jason Mullenix officiating.  Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Junkin; her parents; sister, Frances Fair; son-in-law, William "Ken" Elmore and brother-in-law, Andrew Anderson.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Elmore and Kay Perkins (Kevin); her sister, Patsy Anderson; one granddaughter, Rebecca Shaw (Tim); two great-granddaughters, Anna Kate Shaw and Gracie Leigh Shaw; brother-in-law, Jack Fair and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was born May 5, 1938 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Earley Hall and Martha Hannegan Hall.  She was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gordo and a retired employee of First National Bank of Central Alabama.  After retirement, she worked for the Ruth Holliman Library.
Pallbearers are her nephews, Mike Fair, Ken Fair, Randy Anderson, Timmy Anderson, Wayne Junkins; Randy Burgess, Nathan Mullenix and Todd Hall.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Gordo High School Class of 1956, Emmanuel Baptist Church family, former bank co-workers, employees of the Town of Gordo, her knitting buddies, employees of Hospice of West Alabama, special neighbors, Dr. John Warren and staff and many special friends.
